Dan Rivlin, Kenes Group Managing Director presented during a May 25 IMEX 2010 press conference, the company’s new philosophy as the leader and agent in meeting the revolution in scientific knowledge exchange.
This forward-thinking approach is in-line with Kenes Mission ─ to improve lives by leading and facilitating the global exchange and management of medical scientific knowledge.
Dan explained that “the traditional passive meetings’ era is nearly over. The time has come for the world of scientific knowledge exchange to move forward to new, improved formats which will better address the needs for exchange and networking. We at Kenes are at the forefront of facilitating that change and, for that matter, are actively creating innovative solutions for our clients’ future needs.”
Dan described some of Kenes’ new service offerings which will meet these needs such as the Meeting Architecture concept to revolutionize the way meetings occur; and the Kenes Knowledge Portal Project to provide far broader access to education. With New Media and Communication tools, participants will also be provided with real-time opportunities for virtual learning, online CME accreditation and networking.
One New Media tool is the online webcast, which expands the reach of a congress long after the event and leads to an ongoing exchange of information. To this end, Kenes has taken an interest in the MUTLITWEBCAST Company ─ today’s most advanced asynchronous webcast provider for conference organizers and professional associations worldwide.
The role of a “change agent” is also evident in the Kenes Group Social Responsibility strategy, presented during the press conference. Kenes honors the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit, but sees responsibility issues as a call for action to lead by example. To this end, the Kenes Group is incorporating ecological factors into its site selection process, thus will favor eco-friendly congress venues above others.
Encompassing all this change is the formation of the Kenes Group holding company with an exciting new brand identity and logo. This logo represents the qualities the brand stands for ─ simplicity yet vitality. The ‘swoosh’ is an arrow that shows forward-thinking, future direction/push/initiative and the Kenes’ innovative spirit. The red shows the warmth and compassion for the work the company does and for the clients it serves.
As far as key business announcements, the Group has partnered with leading Spanish and international events organizers, Tilesa OPC to form Tilesa-Kenes Spain. The Madrid-based company, with a branch office in Barcelona, will focus on providing Core Professional Congress Organization and Association Management services in Spain to enhance Spanish national and international medical congresses and associations.
The Group has also partnered with Turkey’s leading PCO ODS Congress Management to form the Istanbul-based subsidiary, Kenes Turkey. The union aims to contribute to the Turkish Medical Association market at an international level and to help develop the Turkish medical meetings and events industry.
The Kenes Group is represented at IMEX by a significant executive delegation from its subsidiaries worldwide as the start of a more outward approach about the company and its activities; a decision to focus efforts on major trade events; to have the opportunity to meet present and future clients; and to share its positive attitude towards the future. Kenes welcomes members of the medical association market to visit its booth #E225.
