February 14, 2011

Postma, Director of the Medical College of Georgia Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders, has authored or co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and 60 chapters and invited articles. Farewell, Birchall and Belafsky made news headlines recently as part of the team that performed the first ever larynx, thyroid gland and trachea transplant on US patient Brenda Jensen. Ten additional outstanding international and UK speakers will share their knowledge at this unique event.

Themed “Cutting Edge Laryngology for the Twenty First Century,”  Laryngology 2011 will bring together delegates from across the world for a highly scientific programme featuring lectures, instructional sessions and hands-on practical sessions on all aspects of laryngology with the main focus on complex airway management, office based procedures, voice and dysphagia.

The conference will provide an update on current developments in tissue engineering, tracheal and laryngeal transplants with sessions dedicated to the latest technological advances in diagnostics, scopes, airway stents and tracheostomy design, among others.

Laryngology 2011, a meeting initiated by Kenes UK under the chairmanship of Prof. Birchall, will be held from June 20-22, 2011 at the Royal College of Surgeons in the heart of Central London.
