March 29, 2011

New Managing Director for Kenes Latin America and creation of JZKenes Brazil

Since the beginning of the year 2011, important developments for the Kenes Group in the South American Continent are taking place, with the appointment of a new Managing Director for Kenes Latin America  and with the creation of JZ Kenes Brazil.  The offices of Kenes Latin America and JZ Kenes Brazil will form ideal synergies in this very active and rapidly developing part of the world and will provide top quality services to the medical scientific community in the region.

JZKENES BRAZIL:

As of January 2011 a joint venture between the respected PCO company JZ Congressos and Kenes Group has been established, operating under the name JZKenes Brazil with offices in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. JZ Congressos under the expert leadership of Juarez Augusto de Carvalho Filho as executive director and his experienced team bring some 30 years of expertise in the professional medical congress management in Brazil to the Kenes Group. By combining the valued Brazilian expertise and the Kenes Group skills, systems, development potential and on-going support, Brazilian medical associations and organising committees are ensured of the best possible support and effectiveness in achieving their goals for the successful management of  medical scientific congress and associations in Brazil.

KENES LATIN AMERICA:

Gonzalo Perez Constanzó has been appointed Managing Director of Kenes Latin America, as from April 1, 2011  (see picture enclosed).

Kenes International had been responsible for several congresses in the region when it decided to open their first permanent offices in 2008, based in Santiago de Chile. From these offices they serve all their customers in the Latin American continent.  Gonzalo Perez Constanzó brings his vast experience in the conference world to his new position. He has been Director of Operations at Tilesa Kenes Spain (TKS) since 2008. The Santiago office will keep close links with the Madrid one and Perez Constanzó will remain a Director at TKS. An Argentine national, he started his career in Buenos Aires with Congresos Internacionales for ten years. He then joined the World Bank in Washington, DC, where he was involved with the Annual Assembly (over 10,000 participants) and other meetings of the institution, all over the world. In 2008 he joined Tilesa OPC, which became Tilesa Kenes Spain in early 2010.

Gonzalo Perez Constanzó is thrilled about being back on a permanent basis in the region. “After years of building experience in different positions overseas, it is a wonderful challenge to become managing director of this office. I know that by combining our Latin creativity and professionalism, together with Kenes’ well-known efficiency, we are providing top-notch services to the region’s congresses”.

At different points in his career, Gonzalo has been a Board member of ICCA representing the PCOs, and President of the ICCA Latin American Chapter; Secretary of Welcome Argentina Foundation and currently serves in the IAPCO Council as Vice President. An enthusiast of his profession, he is frequently a speaker at training events, such as the IAPCO Annual Wolfsberg Seminar.
