Lima welcomes the first Agritech Exhibition to Latin America
March 29, 2011
(Lima - Peru.com) From May 4-6, 2011 Lima will host “Agritech Peru 2011,” our country’s first meeting of experts in technology and agricultural innovation. Under the organization of Kenes Exhibitions and the Peruvian Institute Technology, Innovation and Management (IPTIG), this event will bring the reputation of Agritech Israel, held in Tel Aviv every three years, to Latin America.

Agritech Peru 2011 will take place at the Jockey Club Exhibition Centre, with 60 companies and institutions participating.  The national and international exhibitors expect a gathering of about 3000 visitors, most of whom specialize in agricultural issues.

Among the topics are: Agro-ecology, Farming, Aquaculture, Biotechnology, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Floriculture, Greenhouses, Plant Protection, Precision Agriculture, and others.

A press conference to announce the event was attended by Prema Zilberman (representative of Kenes Exhibitions - Israel), Jorge Del Rio (IPTIG President), Pedro Canales (Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Agribusiness Agriculture) and Rafael Talavera (General Manager of Pacific Corferias).

These figures emphasized that Agritech Peru is intended both to position the country as a destination for future investments and to facilitate the incorporation of new technologies in the agricultural industry and promote new business contacts.

“The growth of Peru’s economy and the proliferation of its exports show that Peru is ready to become a destination for those wishing to invest and establish business connections. In regard to agricultural issues, this is a country blessed with natural resources that needs only to develop more in terms of technology. This is exactly why Peru has been chosen to host the first International Agricultural Exhibition in Latin America,” said Prema Zilberman, representative of Kenes Exhibitions, an Israeli institution with many years of experience in organizing agrotechnology events.
